Spence
I am proud to call Spence home and honoured to be given the opportunity to represent our community in Parliament.
Named after Catherine Helen Spence. Spence was an advocate for female suffrage and electoral reform and was the first female political candidate in Australia when she contested (unsuccessfully) at the Federal Convention elections of 1897.
The Electorate of Spence takes in the City of Playford, Town of Gawler and parts of the Barossa Council, City of Salisbury, and Light Regional Council.
Spence is home to diverse industry and iconic national brands with the RAAF Base Edinburgh, R.M. Williams, SAFCOL, Bickfords, an emerging wine region, state of the art defence tech companies, South Australia’s fresh food production capital in Virginia and many other industries leading the way.
