Labor’s Senate Leader, Senator Penny Wong and the Federal Member for Spence, Matt Burnell MP today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will contribute $1.6 million for Turbans 4 Australia to build a community kitchen and multicultural support centre in South Australia.
This election commitment will support funding for a multipurpose community centre that will provide nutritious and culturally sensitive meals, takeaway hampers with groceries and personal care items, as well as other services including cooking classes, a media centre, and a community drop-in centre.
In particular, these facilities will help support members of our community experiencing hardship in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide, building on the Albanese Labor Government’s commitment to ensuring no-one is left behind.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
