Member for Spence Matt Burnell is proud to be part of an Albanese Labor government working towards supporting small business, in more ways than one.

Earlier this month, Minister for Small Business Julie Collins MP announced new tailored training opportunities, now available to help businesses with their tax and superannuation.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) recently launched a new flexible and free online learning resource, Essentials to strengthen your small business.

Designed for small businesses, educators and tax professionals to share and use with their staff, students or clients, the training website includes more than 20 short courses.

The courses will help anyone with a small business learn about their tax and/or superannuation, and how to grow their business as a whole.

Other progress being made to assist small businesses is the release of the draft legislation, overhauling the current Payment Times Reporting Act 2020.

This legislation overhaul will introduce reforms that will increase pressure on big businesses to pay small businesses on time.

Leveling the playing field for small businesses is important, and is why the Albanese Labor government is working to improve productivity which then supports higher wages and profits, as well as expanding employment opportunities.

The overhail will also streamline reporting and remove inefficiencies and unnecessary burdens under the Act.
